This book was truly amazing. I discovered this latest series, The Days of Elijah after reading through the Economic Collapse Chronicles and the Seven Cows, Ugly and Gaunt Series. I have the audio and the kindle versions of all these books and flip back and forth depending on where I am I am listening/reading. I commute a lot and Mark Goodwin has become a new favorite, discovered through Kevin Pierce - my favorite audible narrator. I knew if Kevin Pierce was reading, then it was a recommendation that I could get on board with.After putting on the first book in the Days of Elijah, I quickly realized it was a continuation from the Days of Noah - and of course went back and read/listened to that series first. I highly recommend that you read Days of Noah first, the back story is more than character development, it helps to bring you to the place in the author's narrative that began in the first.The first book in the Days of Elijah series, Apocalypse, created such a passionate and plausible cause for getting right with God, it had me re-examining my own relationship with Him. The second book has managed to push even deeper into that relationship through a compelling narrative that is both realistic and terrifying, tied closely with real advice for surviving potentially devastating or life-threatening events. It is not possible to not hear the screams in your own mind, not pray for good over evil, not picture the look of anguish or peace on the face of characters we have come to know and care for through Mark Goodwin's masterful writing. Some day it could be me, or you, or someone we care for.My only complaint with this series and the others, is I have finished them all and now have to find a new author to tide me over. Book 3 cannot come soon enough!
Many Christians may have differing views interpreting the end times. Mark provides a description of prophetic events as if they are occurring to the story's characters that capture my attention as a Christian. Kevin Pierce does an excellent job of narration and holds my attention as I drive and listen to this exciting story. The way the story ended with sort of a twist for me and left me thinking the third book will have to encompass many more events, a more global scale perhaps. At least based on my understanding of the end times. I look forward to the next installment.Some reviews refer to "Christian Preppers" as if they will be enduring these end times. A reminder: All the Christian preppers are gone at this point. The hope remains for those who are experiencing the seven seal judgments and have become Christians.
Oh to have lived in the time of the Patriarchs. The Days of Elijah continue to set the table for the second coming. Spoiler alert, if you want to know how this series ends, read the Bible. Thanks again to Mark for keeping the faith fresh and relevant as we all prepare for what plans await us as the Doomsday clock ticks down on mankind.
Absolutely Fantastic! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book series. I love that the books have a Biblical foundation. In a world that has tried to scrub out any reference to God and religion these books are a wonderful breath of fresh air. To me, the events in the stories are realistic and Revelations has been thoughtfully interpreted.I've read the entire series beginning with The Days of Noah and now I'm excitedly waiting for the next book in The Days of Elijah. I can hardly wait! You should read the books and make preparations for the Rapture. Be sure to have your heart right and be a child of God.
This book was fantastic and a great part 2 in this series (part 5 in the overall series.) I bought it on Kindle as soon as I saw I could on Amazon and started reading. All of Mark Goodwin's books are fantastic, but, I was worried this one wold leave me like the last one, on the edge of my seat waiting. It does leave you ready for book 3, but not nearly as eventful as part 1 did. Looking forward to reading the next, as well as the finale from his other series!
I don't think Mark Godwin can write a bad story. His words are so visual. I wasn't much of a reader, but my mom turned me onto "The Days of Noah" and I couldn't put the books down. I purchased my first gun, from reading this book. The one the FBI agent, Mr. Smith recommended. I then read, "The Days of Elijah" and when they meet Moses, I was just as excited and in awe as the characters in the book. "Seven Cows Ugly and Gaunt," was truly an eye opener of what the US could become if we don't bring God back into our lives. My husband thinks I'm crazy because I'm becoming a "Prepper!" There were times when I would have to remind myself that what was happening in the book, was not really happening in the world! Now I'm reading, "The Economic Collapse Chronicles" and they are just as exciting. I think if I had to do over, I would read the Chronicles first, Seven Cows Ugly and Gaunt, The days of Noah, and then the Days of Elijah last. Trust me when I say, YOU CAN NOT PUT THESE STORIES DOWN. They are fictional characters but the history of America and where it is going, as well as the Bible and God's promises to Believers and non believers is FACTUAL. The Days of Elijah takes you chapter by chapter of the Book of Revelations as well.
I have all of Mark's books- and several copies to share with others... His books are EXCELLENT from a literary perspective- great characters, exciting story lines and plot twists, and a good look at the inner thoughts and motivations of the characters... The books are also great from a practical perspective- providing rock solid advice and wisdom for those looking to be prepared... The books are also exceptional in dealing with character and the reality of God and His judgement without being "preachy"... I highly recommend him as an author- all of his series are GREAT!!!
